my hp probook 450 g3 laptop with windows 10 pro has for some reason lost the drivers for the internal laptop display. So if you have problems with linux you might try saying you have a pnp os to satisfy linux but this is going against what ms suggest but will probably work ok anyway.

Windows 7 instead created a generic non-pnp monitor in the device manager and a standard vga graphics adapter.
